Children, Families and young people at St John’s
Children are always welcome at St John’s and our Sunday morning services in the Church Hall always have something for children.
Everyone is welcome to join us on the first Sunday of each month for Breakfast Church or Muddy Church – relaxed and creative worship for all ages at the church hall (during Autumn & Winter months) or in the church garden (during spring & Summer). Wriggling and playing is positively encouraged at these services!
We also run Sunday morning activities for children aged 3+ at our 10.15am services that take place on other Sundays (see details below about Sunday Club) and there is always a space with toys for parents with babies and toddlers within the main hall.
Sunday Club, a Sunday morning group, especially for children aged 3+, that meets in the Ark and runs alongside our 10:15 service in the Church Hall (in term-time.) We all worship together for the first song, before children go to their own group to explore their own questions about God and the world around them through Bible stories and creative activities.
Praise and Play meets on Thursday afternoons, 1.45-3.00pm (in term-time) at the Church Hall on Norley Road. Praise and Play is a relaxed and friendly group for babies, toddlers, pre-school children and their parents or carers. All are welcome!
It is a time for everyone to catch up and enjoy time together. There are toys to play with, crafts to make, and snacks to eat! We also gather together for a bit of “quiet time” with a story, some songs, and, along the way, we learn a bit more about God, and the world God wants us to enjoy and take care of.
No need to book.
No fixed charge, but donations towards drinks and resources welcome.
Contact Alison Harris for more information on either of these activities: see Contact details.
